Instructional Design Rooted in Learning Science.

About Me

Hi, I'm Jaimee Pantel—an Instructional Designer, Learning Experience Designer (LXD), and Learning Architect with a formal background in education, pedagogy, psychology, and learning science. I hold a B.S. in Education and spent nearly a decade teaching in Title I schools, designing instruction for diverse learners and real classrooms before transitioning into full-time instructional design.

That classroom experience shapes everything I build. I think in terms of cognitive load, scaffolding, transfer, learner readiness, and user experience—not just slides and assets. My work blends research-informed practice with clean, user-centered design to create learning that feels intuitive, practical, and aligned to clear performance goals. Clarity, efficiency, and measurable outcomes are non-negotiable.

I specialize in breaking down complex concepts, structuring learning for multiple readiness levels, and building systems that support long-term retention and growth. If you'd like a quick peek at how I think through learning problems, you can try a short Pop Quiz.

Experience

  • Instructional Designer (Integrated Role) @PantelEd

    2022–Present | Victoria, TX • Remote

Designs digital, blended, and asynchronous learning experiences, including microlearning modules, clarity-first instructional assets, and data-informed tools such as TEKS mastery dashboards, all grounded in learning science, cognitive load theory, and user-centered design.

  • Science Teacher (Grades 6–8) @Victoria ISD

    2017–2022; 2025 | Victoria, TX

Designed standards-aligned science lessons, labs, and multimedia instruction; built structured learning pathways for diverse learners; and developed asynchronous alternatives to support absent and alternately placed students while maintaining clarity and continuity of learning.

  • Science Teacher (6–8 & HS Biology) @Bloomington ISD

    2022–2025 | Bloomington, TX

Taught Middle School Science and High School Biology, creating scaffolded resources and multimedia supports to break down complex scientific concepts, building Google Classroom environments for self-paced learning, and designing asynchronous pathways for remediation and independent work.

  • Writing Tutor @Victoria College

While completing A.S. studies | Victoria, TX

Coached students in writing clarity, structure, and organization, providing individualized, scaffolded feedback to strengthen communication skills and academic confidence.

  • Cross-Industry Roles (Healthcare, Finance, Technical Support)

    1998–2012 | Birmingham, AL • Houston & Alvin, TX

Held roles in hospital vital records, patient billing support, bad-debt and member account resolution, and advanced technical support. Consistently focused on explaining complex information clearly, resolving problems, and de-escalating high-stress situations for patients, customers, and members—experience that now informs calm, clarity-first instructional design.

Education

  • B.S. in Education (Magna Cum Laude)

    2017 | Texas A&M University–Victoria (UHV)

Bachelor's degree in Education with a focus on science instruction; earned Texas certifications in EC–6, ESL, and 4–8 Science.

  • A.S. in Science

Completed prior to 2017 | Victoria College

Associate of Science with foundational coursework in biology, chemistry, and mathematics supporting later work in instructional design and science education.

  • Ongoing Professional Learning

    2017–Present | Self-Directed Study • Online Platforms • Professional Practice

Continuous learning in instructional design, learning science, cognitive psychology, multimedia learning, user-centered design, and learning technologies. Actively applies new research and skills through real-world instructional projects, experimentation, and iterative design.
